Novokuznetsk Volunteering Program Has a Great Start to 2013!

The Novokuznetsk Tvoy Kurs Center have analyzed the results of all the volunteer groups work in 2012 and were very pleasantly surprised - their volunteers had managed to raise their work to a new record level! Around 5,000 people had taken part in activities organized and conducted by volunteers, with more than 200 people trained by them in the Digital Literacy course.

The success of the volunteers did not go unnoticed during the year:

The project "Your Course: Accessible Environment for People with Disabilities", carried out by students from Novokuznetsk Humanitarian and Technical College, at a Federal Rehabilitation Center, took second place in a competition for the Tvoy Kurs Best Youth Initiative.

Angelina Bagriy won the Teach Your Family contest for her creative approach to learning.

Aleksandr Tretyakov took part in the regional competition "Volunteer of the Year". He also took part in the regional youth forum "Start 2012", where he shared the experience of the project. Additionally, Aleksandr took part in the regional volunteer competition "Life Energy", where for the successful training of computer basics to older people, the young man won a prize of a trip to St. Petersburg. We have already written about Aleksandr in one of the stories.

The staff at the Novokuznetsk training center are very proud of all their volunteers. They especially want to celebrate the children who took part in the project "Your Course: Accessible Environment for People with Disabilities”. During the year, the volunteers carried out computer literacy training for the patients of the Federal Center for Rehabilitation. It broadened the project geography from the Urals to the Far East.

But the uniqueness of the project is that the coaches were students of the Humanities and Technical College, who themselves have a disability. Volunteering in the project really gave these young people an extra incentive for self-development, for active citizenship, to develop leadership and moral and ethical qualities.

The Novokuznetsk center and Tvoy Kurs project staff would like to congratulate all the volunteers for their work in 2012 and wish them continued success in their hard work!
