| Tinker, Tailor… Online Trader! | For one of the Digital Literacy courses in the Internet and the World Wide Web, the Digital Literacy Center team in Togliatti State University decided to try something new: knowing their young trainees to be fairly advanced computer users, they invited a trainer from one of the leading financial companies of the city and asked him to introduce the learners to basics of online trading.
Most of the time the young trainees worked independently, using the self-study mode and asking for trainer assistance only occasionally. They were especially interested in issues of computer security and multimedia technologies, and those working in trade and finance made sure to master text processing and database applications.
The Digital Literacy course in the Internet and the World Wise Web is the most popular module among young audiences, and to make it even more relevant in terms of using the Internet as a source of main or additional income, trainer Svetlana Mikheyeva decided to add a new twist: she invited an expert from one of the leading local companies to introduce the trainees to basics of online training. After this introduction some of the trainees decided to continue their online trading education in one of the company’s specialized educational centers.
