| Thirteen More DL Certificates Awarded in Vladimir | On August 5, 2010, the Digital Literacy Center in Vladimir celebrated another achievement, awarding YCDL Certificates to its sixth group of alumni.
This time the Digital Literacy course in Computer Basics was attended by people trying to either keep their current employment or improve their qualifications for a better job. They all gained basic practical skills in using the computer, learned to use Microsoft Office applications, e-mail and the Internet, successfully passing the Digital Literacy Certificate test.
All the alumni plan to use their newly gained computer skills at work, since a modern workplace – or, in fact, modern life in general – is no longer conceivable without computers. Economist Ludmila Kasatkina has already begun putting her new skills to work, and Nina Korolkova is using her typing and editing skills to prepare her new book of poetry for publication.
All the alumni appreciated the training and its practical outcomes and plan to continue their IT education using self-study Digital Literacy modules on Microsoft’s website.
