| “The Sea of Desires” and Gold Fish in Our Net | It’s 100°F in Moscow today, and the YCDL Project team is full of hopes and desired, inspired by the unusually hot weather. We hope that our partners in different localities have a chance to rest – and find ourselves wishing we could go down to the seaside. However the sea is far, far away, so we decided to create our own sea – a new incentive/appreciation program called “The Sea of Desires.”
Because it is also a good time to look back and reflect. It has been six months since Your Course: Digital Literacy was first launched in Russia. Thanks to the efforts of our coordinators, the Project is thriving: more and more people throughout the country are acquiring basic computer skills which are so important in our age of digital technologies. Yes, it is time to evaluate our first achievements, look at practical outcomes and share success stories.
"The Sea of Desires" will help us evaluate the centers’ performance and reward the most active digital literacy centers, while giving all the YCDL Centers an equal opportunity to win prizes and receive useful gifts. It is our sincere hope that “The Sea of Desires” will also become the Sea of Opportunities for all the Project participants.
The entire YCDL team worked on the Sea of Desires incentive/appreciation program, but its online design we owe to YCDL’s webmaster and programmer Anastasia Sakharova and artist Ekaterina Veselova. For more details about “The Sea of Desires” YCDL coordinators are encouraged to visit the Sea of Desires section of the Project’s database.
