| More Your Course: Digital Literacy Partners in Tula | On 22 July 2010, Tula regional academic library hosted a seminar for rural librarians from Tula region as potential participants of the Your Course: Digital Literacy Project.
The seminar was facilitated by the library’s director L.I. Korolyova, her assistant for research Y. V. Ivanova, YCDL Project coordinator S.V. Shulikova and YCDL trainer L. V. Sidorova. Rural librarians were introduced to the main goals and objectives of the Project, the structure of the Digital Literacy Curriculum and basic principles of organizing training courses as well as the Project’s priorities in terms of target groups. They looked at the Digital Literacy modules, talked about the Certificate Test and ways of compiling Project data and statistics, and tested their own computer literacy skills. Future trainers I.N. Ignatyeva (Aleksin regional library) and K.V. Lukin (Belev central rural library) successfully passed the Certificate Test without any prior training or preparation.
In August 2010 Your Course: Digital Literacy training courses are scheduled to begin in Belev, Aleksin, Kireyevsk and Chern' central rural libraries of Tula region.
