| YCDL Certificates for Saratov Alumni |
In April 2010, the ICT and Computer Science Department of Saratov State University launched an authorized Your Course: Digital Literacy center.
Thanks to the new center, the University’s Internet classrooms with free online access, the University’s online portal for ICT training and programming as well as volunteer work of E. V. Sukhorukova (from the Balashov branch of the University) and Е.N.Khanycheva (from the evening school of Saratov regional juvenile penal and correctional system) more than 350 people from Saratov and Saratov region have taken various training modules of the Digital Literacy Curriculum, either personally or online, and have received Microsoft’s official YCDL Certificates.
In July 2010, the Digital Literacy Center in Saratov held an award ceremony for those alumni who had completed the training through distance learning. Many of them were graduates of Saratov State University who had signed up for and completed the training in order to refresh and upgrade their ICT competencies and add a Microsoft Certificate to their portfolios. The team of the digital literacy center hopes that the new skills will stand the alumni well in seeking for and securing adequate employment.
