About the project |

| The Project is implemented under Microsoft's Your Course initiative through the network of Сomputer Literacy centers throughout Russia launched in partnership with libraries, colleges and universities and non-profit organizations. Each center provides e-skills trainings in the Microsoft Digital Literacy and Unlimited Potential Curricula, free Internet access and access to Digital Literacy Course; as well as training in capacity-building themes, in order to increase employability and marketability among underserved and disadvantaged populations in Russia. The Internet with its search engines, special job sites and portals, and websites of employers and employment agencies, has become a primary resource for job seekers. In fact, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find work without using online resources. With this in mind, on 25 August 2010 the Digital Literacy Center of Novosibirsk regional academic library held a special seminar for job seekers. According to the team of the Digital Literacy Center at the Russian State University for the Humanities in Samara, their trainee Galina Arkhipova is quite a unique figure. Despite her age, she is full of energy, enthusiasm and determination. An alumna of Your Course: Digital Literacy, Galina is full of thanks for the many opportunities that have now opened up for her. She has become an active member of several Internet forums and communities, regularly shops online and is getting ready to become a volunteer at the Digital Literacy Center. | |
